Typically this is a telemarketer looking to change your long distance service. Often times they can't even tell you who the local telephone company is. Have them remove your name from their telemarketing list.

What is a lata and what is the difference between inter and intra lata? |

A lata is a geographic area within which the local telephone company provides local and long distance services. If you call witin your lata, the call is intra lata. If you call outside your lata, the call is an inter lata call. North Dakota has two latas, the Fargo-Brainerd lata which includes Carrington and Jamestown and the Bismarck lata.
