| Call Waiting |
If you're on the phone and someone else is trying to reach you, Call Waiting will alert you with a "beep". You can put the first person on hold while you answer the second call; and, you can switch back to the first call when you're through.
Cancel Call Waiting Allows the customer to cancel call waiting for one call by dialing two digits. To deactivate this feature, just pick up the phone and touch *70 (Rotary phones dial 1170). You will hear 3 beeps. Do not hang up. Dial the number you want to call. Call Waiting is automatically restored when you hang up. This service is provided free in conjunction with Call Waiting. |
| Caller ID |
| This service provides the name and number of the party calling you. |
| Caller Waiting ID |
| This service requires you to have subscribed to both Caller ID and Call Waiting. With Call Waiting ID, you can see who is calling you when you are on the phone with someone else. While you are on the phone, you will hear your call waiting tone to notify you that a second call is coming in. Within a few seconds after hearing the tone your Caller ID display (if your phone has capability) will show you who is calling on the second call. |
| Call Forwarding |
Call Forwarding lets you transfer your incoming calls to another number. It's great for the business person who wants to catch after-hours calls at home, or for anyone who doesn't want to miss an important call.

To activate, pick up the phone and touch *72. Dial the number where you want your calls to be forwarded. You know your Call Forwarding feature is in effect when someone answers at the forwarding number. If there is no answer at the forwarding number, or if the line is busy, hang up and repeat the steps above. If you do so within two minutes, you’ll hear two beeps meaning your Call Forwarding is now working.

To deactivate call forwarding, pick up the phone and touch *73 and wait four seconds. Listen for two beeps. The Call Forwarding feature is no longer in effect, and calls will ring on your phone. |
| Find Me |
| Allows an incoming call to one phone number to ring up to 6 other phones at the same time. Make it easy for friends, family or customers to find you without having to try a list of phone numbers. |
| Voicemail |
| Provides a twenty-four (24) hour voice mail answering and message storage system. Messages may be retrieved from any touch-tone telephone. |
| Three Way Calling |
| Allows a third party to be added to a previously established connection. Either party may be disconnected without disconnecting the entire call. |
| Trunk Hunting |
| This service is typically used by businesses and is commonly referred to as "rollover." Trunk hunting allows you to have an incoming call "roll" to another number if the first line is busy. |
| Toll Restriction |
| Restricts a telephone line from making any long distance calls. |
| Anonymous Call Rejection (ACR) |
| This feature allows customers to reject calls from parties who used a privacy feature to restrict presentation of their directory name and number to the ACR customer. When ACR is activated on a line, incoming calls are examined to determine whether presentation of the calling party's directory number is allowed or restricted. If presentation is allowed or if the presentation status is unavailable, the call is completed to the ACR subscriber. If presentation is restricted, the incoming call is routed to the ACR denial treatment which may be a recorded announcement or tone. |
| Call Return |
Your phone rang, but you were unable to answer in time. With just a touch, Call Return will dial the last number that called you.

To activate, pick up the phone and touch *69 (Rotary phones dial 1169). If the called party is not busy, you will hear a ringing tone. If the called party is busy, you will hear a busy tone. Hang up your receiver. Your phone will alert you with a distinctive ring when the called party's line becomes available. Pick up the receiver and wait for the called party to answer. If you do not hear a distinctive ring within 30 minutes of activating, it will automatically deactivate. You may make other calls while Call Return is trying to reach a busy number.

To deactivate this feature, just pick up the phone and touch *89 (Rotary phones dial 1189). Listen for a busy tone and hang up. Call Return is now deactivated. |
| Call Trace |
Are you receiving annoying phone calls? This service lets you trace the call and at your request the local law enforcement agency will investigate.
* 57
To activate this service, immediately pick up the phone and touch *57 (Rotary phones dial 1157). Listen for a confirmation tone indicating that you have successfully activated Call Tracing. The number of the last call you received will be recorded by the telephone company and provided to your local law enforcement agency at your request. If you completed another call or call waiting tone before activating a trace of the annoyance call, you will trace the last completed call and not the annoyance call. Please keep a note of the times and dates in which you activate successful traces (traces which you receive a confirmation tone indicating that a trace has successfully been performed). Contact the local law enforcement agency to handle the annoyance call problem. There is a fee for each successful trace. This service should only be used to trace life threatening calls or calls which are of harassing nature in which you may want to press charges. Please contact our office to authorize the trace.

| Custom Ringing |
Custom Ringing allows you to define a list of 32 incoming numbers that you want to receive special incoming treatment. Any calls from numbers on this list will be indicated by a distinctive ringing pattern or call waiting tone.

To activate this service, pick up the phone and touch *61 (Rotary phones dial 1161). When a number from the defined list calls in, you hear a distinctive ring or call waiting tone. |
| Repeat Dialing |
You need to reach someone, but their phone is busy. Repeat Dialing calls the party you're trying to reach every minute for 30 minutes. (After 30 minutes, your request will be canceled.)
To Use:
- After a busy signal, hang up. Lift hand set.
- Listen for the dial tone.
- Press *66 (1166 for rotary or pulse phones)
- You will hear an announcement similar to , "The number you have called is busy, but should it become available in the next 1/2 hour you will be automatically notified by a distinctive ring."
- You will receive a "special" call-back ring when the line is free.
- Pick up the receiver and the number you were calling will ring.
- You may get or make calls while this feature is on, and you may have more than one Repeat Dialing request active at a time.
To Cancel:
Press *86 (1186 for rotary or pulse phones), then listen for an announcement.

| Selective Call Acceptance/Rejection |
Selective Call Acceptance
A list of 32 numbers is prepared by the customer to define what calling numbers will be accepted. Any numbers not on that list will be routed to announcements and rejected.

To activate, pick up the phone and touch *64 (Rotary phones dial 1164). When activated, only numbers from your designated list will come through, all others will be rejected.
Selective Call Rejection A maximum of 32 numbers can be set up to be screened. Any number on this list will be routed to an announcement and rejected. All other calls will be treated normally. The rejected party gets an announcement stating that their call is not being accepted by the called party.

To activate, pick up the phone and touch *60 (Rotary phones dial 1160). Any number that is on the defined list will be routed to an announcement and rejected. The above services indicated with an "*", work only within the Dakota Central Telecommunications Cooperative and Dakota Central Telecom I exchanges. The numbers selected for these services must be numbers from either of the two companies. |
| Warm Line |
| Allows a subscriber to automatically place a call to a preselected telephone number by simply lifting the handset from the switch hook and waiting 15 seconds. |
| 900 Blocking |
| This a free service that allows a customer to block any 900 number calls from being made at the service location. Traditionally, 900 numbers charge the caller a per-minute rate for the duration of the phone call. To prevent unwanted 900 number calls, this free service is recommended. All customers without 900 number blocking will be responsible for 900 number calls made from the service location. |
| User Transfer |
| This feature enables a customer to transfer a call received on their home telephone number to be transferred to another number by depressing the hook switch, dialing the transfer to number and going on hook. |
